"Auntie M" I am

Auntie M. Yep that's me. My nieces and nephews call me auntie and I'm auntie to my friend's fuzzy children. I love everything about being an auntie. David and I never wanted kids and if given the choice of holding a newborn puppy or a newborn baby, I will choose the puppy because babies make me nervous until their heads stay on. Now that doesn't mean I wouldn't take my nieces and nephew in a heartbeat, it just means that it is way more fun to "kiss, kiss, love, love and then be happy when they go home and mess up their own house and drive my sister crazy 24/7.

However, being an auntie to animals is entirely different. I have a huge passion for pets. I truly love them and look forward to seeing them. I have been like that since I was a child. I can spend hours and hours with animals and never tire of them. Soooooo, with construction being in such a conflict now and me not knowing what the future of my job will be, I have started my own pet sitting business. The name of it is "Auntie M's Critter Care." When your critter needs a sitter, there's no place like home.

Most crazy pet people like me cringe at the thought of putting their babies in a kennel. Critters are much happier being at home with their own stuff and their own beds. I come to the house spend about 40 minutes taking care of them and giving them lots of love. This is the reason I bought a new car. My other car belongs to my boss at my construction job. I wasn't about to put critter's in his car or use his gas to operate my own business.

My good friends, Bridgette and Georgina, at Intandem http://www.intandeminc.com/ designed my new website for me. They did a fabulous job and I'm so delighted with everything they did. Check it out when you get a minute. http://www.auntiemscrittercare.com/

I'm not sure what the future will hold, but I'm excited about doing something I'm so passionate about. Keep me in mind if your critter needs a sitter. Auntie M, I am.

Hugs,
Shell

Christmas In July

Hello my friends! Well, Christmas will be here before we know it. I mean it's already July 21st! As fast as time seems to go, why not get a head start on your Christmas shopping. There are so many perfect gifts to be found with my pink sisters at Make Mine Pink. We are having a shop hop in which you will hop to different stores to locate the shopping bag. You can win a prize just for hopping and collecting bags! Of course, the bunnies think this is a wonderful idea. What a great way to save time and gas and support women in business. Please visit us at http://www.makeminepink.com/ Above are just a few things that I have to offer. Please check my website at http://www.theraspberryrabbits.com/ for other items. Remember, my work is all one of a kind and handmade from the heart.

Have a great week.
Hugs,
Shell

Isn't She Lovely...Isn't She Wonderful...

Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? This is my 91 year old grammy (Muriel) or as I call her, "Cutie", or as the great grandkids call her, "Moo Moo." I traveled to Virginia Beach this weekend (3 1/2 hours) to go and decorate her new apartment. Yep, she lives alone at 91. Cool huh? My sister and the three kiddo's came to help too. We cleaned, unpacked, organized, hung curtain rods and curtains, hung pictures, shredded paper, threw away expired mustard (what is up with old people and year old expired condiments?) and transformed my grammy's new pad into a stylish abode that she would feel comfy in. The hardest part was trying to keep 3 lively children from acting like 3 lively children on the third floor of an elderly apartment complex. I have to say though that they did remarkably well. Thank goodness for the carpet swiffer and polishing cloths. Cutie grammy was thrilled with the results and made me cry when she started crying and saying how beautiful it was.

We also took her on a shopping trip. She wanted to go to Walmart. Yuck, but hey this was her shopping trip. She was so darn excited to get out and go shopping. On the way there she told me she didn't think she could walk very far. I looked at her and said, "you won't be walking, you'll be riding the scooter shopping buggy." Boy oh boy was she excited about that! My sister went in got it all set up and off Cutie went. We walked around with her in Walmart for over 2 hours. We took stuff off of shelves, compared prices, ate samples, got decorations and just let her enjoy her adventure. When we got back in the car, she started to cry and said that she had the best time. She said for the first time in her life she was able to go into a store and not worry about a budget and could just ride along looking at things because no one was rushing her. I thought about all the people that passed by us and said how nice we were to be taking care of her, what good helpers she had, how special she must be. Hmmm come to think of it, she is special. Very, very, special and she's lovely and she's wonderful.

Have a fun week.

Short, Cute and Sassy

Sassy you say? Yep, Sassy.

It started last Saturday night when my friend, Michelle, arrived home after being gone for a few months. She's in the Navy. There we were on her back porch enjoying wine for me and beer for her, catching up on things when out of nowhere she says, "Shell, what are we going to do with your hair?" I just about spit my wine out from laughing. I said, "what do you mean?" She said, as she put her eyes down sheepishly, "well, it's just that you are short, cute, and sassy and you need a short, cute and sassy hair style."

I've been in the process of letting my hair grow since January and Michelle said that it looked like a "sexy mama 70's style." Again, I almost spit my wine out with laughter. I told her that was not true as I would need boobs to have a "sexy mama" look and since I have no boobs, I agreed that the hair must go and be transformed into short, cute and sassy. With that said, her mother-in-law, Sue, came in and we asked her for her opinion. Sue is a stylist and she concurred that indeed I "had no boobs" and that indeed I needed a short, cute and sassy hairstyle. So on Thursday evening Sue cut it. What do you think? I really love it and so does David and my friends.

The rest of my weekend went just as fabulous. I sold two art pieces from my website, I finished another little art quilt called Mr. and Mrs. Birdie go to brunch, and then I went out and bought a short, cute and sassy new car to match my new hairdo. (not really to match my hair, but I had you going didn't I?) Anyway, here is a picture of the car. I'll have more on that next time.

Have a good week. Be good, be cute, be sassy and be happy that your not short with no boobs.

Hugs,
Shell

This week IGF the fact that David liked my hair and he isn't a boob man.
