Notes from Sugie

Hi There! Sugie here with a note from Mama.

Mama is busy finishing several projects including the next block in A Sentimental Journey Through the Months. She said be sure and come back tomorrow for your block and register for the giveaway!

She also said it's time to start stitching for Halloween. Her Elegant Pumpkins Stitchery is fast and fun and looks so lovely in black and white. Kinda like a pretty bunny she knows. hee, hee, hee. You can get the pattern in her Shop.

I think that's all I'm suppose to tell you. Now time to relax. Being a spokesbun is exhausting!

Monday Meetings - Jules of Adventures in Thread

Welcome to Monday Meetings everyone!

This week I am delighted to introduce you to my dear friend Jules of Adventures in Thread.
Jules lives in England and is an incredible doll artist and embroiderer. She is another friend that I have met through blogging that I wish I could meet in person to give her a big hug! I know we would share lots of laughs and have so much fun together. She could even fix me a "proper" cup of tea. It would be "brilliant" as she likes to say. :)

Jules made me some truly incredible gifts that I would like to share with you. And yes, yet again, I was brought to tears. I am delighted to introduce you to The Bunny Herder.

Jules created this lovely lady from paper clay and beautiful fabrics. She has the most beautiful eyes and a lovely long braid. Here dress and bloomers are made from the most beautiful fabrics.

The Bunny Herder holds a sweet little chocolate bunny (Razzy) that she needle felted.

You might be wondering why she is wearing boots. Well, the Bunny Herder is the keeper of the bunnies in a magical place. You see....Jules also wrote a lovely story to accompany this doll. The story features me, Razzy and Sugie....Ok...I gotta get some tissue... it's been a month today since Razzy passed and this just gets to me. :(

Then, as if I didn't get all choked up about this, she also embroidered this beautiful card with Razzy on it.

Jules...I can't thank you enough for these incredible gifts. The beautiful doll, the incredible story and the card that still makes me cry. They are treasures to me and they will reside in Bunnyville and forever bring many smiles to my face. Your friendship is the greatest joy and I treasure you. How grateful I am that blogging brought us together.

Many hugs across the pond to you my friend. Love ya bunches!
Shell

I do hope you can all join me this week...many magical things to come. ;)

Happy Friday - Tea at Three with Mr. Biscotti Bunny

Happy Friday everybunny!

Today I thought I would share another one of my favorite things to do. My grandfather had a tradition that every day at 3:00 he would have a cup of tea and a cookie or a little snack. My sister and I truly love this. In fact, when I threw my sister a baby shower 9 years ago for my niece, Laura, I made a "tea at three" theme. Each guest got to take home their own tea cup. We had the best time.

My mom gave me this bunny cookie jar for my birthday back in March. I just love him. While most people would keep cookies in him, I keep my biscotti's in him. I just love biscotti's and tea. And, as usual, I name everything, so he is Mr. Biscotti Bunny.

I adore Stash brand tea. I usually have the Fusion, which is a fusion of white and green tea, or I'll have my long time favorite Earl Grey. I know you must be thinking it's weird to drink hot tea in the Summer, but I keep Bunnyville cool for Sugie bunny, so having a cup of hot tea is still wonderful for my scrawny bones.

I also wanted to do a shout out and thank you to my friend, Debbi Higginbotham, for sending me this adorable little bunny. It's so tiny, about 2". I have placed it up in Bunnyville on my work table so I can think of Razzy and all the inspiration he gave me. Thanks for this thoughtful keepsake Debbi. I love it!

Have a great weekend everyone. I'll be posting some new things I'm working on tomorrow and Sunday. I'm so excited to show you my new designs for Fall and a new Art Quilt.

When I win the Lottery Wednesday - My Dream Car

When I win the lottery, this is the car I want to get! A 2011 Chevy Camaro!

Hello hot stuff!

I loooove this car! Sporty, zippy, and fun. I want all white (go figure) with beige interior and those fancy chrome rims. I also want a fabulous sound system and the navigation system. Right now the bunny mobile I drive has a "Redneck Navigation System"....which is David reading the directions off of the Map Quest print out and then yelling for me to "get over now or we'll miss the turn!"  Oh it will be so nice to have that polite lady say in her calming voice, "merge right in 3 miles." Ahhh yes...I can hear it.... ok, let's get back to the car.

I think the whole body style looks like the Batmobile.

The interior has lots of fun gadgets and you just melt into the seats. Of course, I'll get an automatic because I like to drink Lattes in the car and drive with my left leg up against the door. (shhhh don't tell the police) Needless to say, you can't shift with a latte in one hand and the clutch leg and foot up on the seat. The seat will also boost up really high so short little kids like me can see over the dash better. :)

David wants this one. White (go figure) with black stripes. He wants a manual transmission and a super duper engine in his. He doesn't drink lattes or drive with his leg up in the seat so it will be ok for him. However, I worry there maybe some speeding tickets. Yikes!
This is the first sports car in a while that made my head turn. I guess because I live with a man that owns a 1969 Camaro and loves his car like I love bunnies.

Is that man happy or what?!

He spends hours and hours detailing it. He's done a lot of work to it and wants to get a super duper engine for it. Again, I see speeding tickets in the future.

Boys and their toys..well and girls for that matter too. When I win the lottery, I'm getting one!

So, what car are you getting when you win the lottery?

Cute Cottage Tuesday - The 2008 HGTV Green Home

Remember this cute cottage from 2008? I can't believe it's already been 2 years. This was the HGTV Green Home that they gave away. It's in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Boy oh boy did I ever want to win this cute cottage!

Charming front elevation with a metal roof, vertical board and batten and adorable shutters with shutter locks. Love the garage doors too!

I loved the taupe cabinets and the quartz countertops. Drool, sigh, drool some more. hee, hee, hee.

The living room, dining room and kitchen were all open to each other and the light just flooded in from the back yard.

That pergola was just gorgeous!

Speaking of the back yard...hello people! Look at that view! Breathe Shell, breathe....

Ok...I also really loved this pantry that lead to the wash room. I liked that everything was set up recycling.

To date, this has been my favorite house they have done. Charm, charm, charm! Which HGTV dream home has been your favorite?

Monday Meetings - Donna Liljegren of Brynwood Needleworks

Sometimes in life paths may cross and an acquaintance is made. Other times when paths cross a lasting friendship is born. A friendship that grows stronger and stronger like you've known the person your whole life.

My friend Donna Liljegren, of Brynwood Needlework's, is a such a friend. Donna is one of those people whose warmth, kindness, and generosity can be felt even if you have never met her in person, which I have not, but look forward to the day I do. Please hop over and visit with her. Her blog is gorgeous and you will be glad you went to visit.

The other day I received this beautiful gift in the mail. Not only is Donna an wonderful person, she is also an incredible textile artist. She made this beautiful pillow for me in remembrance of my Razzy bunny. Yes, I cried when I opened it. I have been blessed by many gifts from Donna all of which I treasure. This pillow, however, was a blessing on my life. It shall sit on the settee in Bunnyville and help me to remember my precious baby boy.

Thank you for everything Donna. Your love, your friendship and your heart.
Love and friends always,
Shell

Happy Friday - The Art of Doing Nothing

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that your week has gone well. I hope you got everything done that you were suppose to do and needed to do. Now I want you to think about doing something else.

I want you to think about doing Nothing...absolutely nothing. Now your Nothing doesn't mean you have to sit in a dark room and not say a word. Nothing can be having a glass of iced tea with your honey bunny. It can be taking a walk. It can be stitching a project. It can be cooking a beautiful meal and having a glass of wine. What I mean by nothing is taking time for You and living life. Even if it is only 15 minutes and you want to read a magazine. Take time for "nothing but living."  No schedules, no to do list, no I'm never gonna get it all done (because you won't...ever). Carve time out of every day for nothing. No phone unless it's catching up with a good friend or telling your kid that you just sent to college that you love them. No TV unless it's a show you truly love and enjoy watching. No computer for anything but fun. No chores unless you really love to vacuum!

Learn the "Art of Doing Nothing." There is no time limit, no right or wrong, no instruction manual. Just be free.

Sugie really understands how it works. She likes to take naps in the toy box. It's taken me years to figure it out. Then one day I did. Life is so much better with my nothings. And yes, sometimes I get off track and then something will happen and I'm reminded to enjoy my nothings again.

So what does doing Nothing look like to you?

Happy Friday,

Thoughts on Thursday

Ok...back on track this week with an uplifting post. Of course, many of you seemed to be uplifted last week as I got nutty, I mean squirrely, I mean silly over the squirrel bite. Thankfully this week my finger swelling has gone down and all that remains are two indentations where the teeth were and some knots. Not bad at all.

Have a wonderful Day!

When I win the Lottery Wednesday

When I win the lottery, I want to collect this dinnerware by Vietri. It is the Incanto Collection. Incanto is Italian for Enchantment. I think it's a perfect name for this collection as I find it so enchanting.

I'm rather fond of the Baroque pieces. They are simple, yet elegant.

These mugs are just too much fun!

They even have a wine coaster!! You know I need that!

Then I'll have to get a few of these candlesticks.
And then, I will have to get the Alladin Flateware in Taupe. Hello fabulous!!!

Isn't lottery shopping fun! So, would you get all new dinnerware and flatware? What would you like to get?

Cute Cottage Tuesday

Welcome to our second Cute Cottage Tuesday! This week I wanted to share three little houses that I have always loved. I went to visit a friend of mine a few hours from me and these were on the way to her house. I stopped this time to take pictures of them.

They remind me of fairytale cottages with their pointy gables. I have always loved pointy gables and find them incredibly charming. I loved that little window on the porch near the rockers and the other arched window in the gable. And hello there cute front door!
I also go crazy over an arched doorway! I find them so welcoming.

I don't know about you, but I think about cookies everytime I see this house and cute little old lady wearing an apron. Must be the wreath on the door and the little flag out front in the yard or maybe I just want a cookie. hee, hee, hee.

Then, in another little town along the way, there was a for sale sign in this yard. I turned the bunny mobile around and went back to check it out. The house was vacant, so I got out and peeked in the windows! The entire inside had hardwood floors. It needs a little scrub a dub dub, and a little landscaping, but what an adorable place this could be. It's 1324 square feet. Three bedrooms and one bath. They asking price was only $79,000.00.

Thanks for joining us today.

Monday Meetings, Marijke Van Ooijen

Is this not the most adorable and magical rabbit! This week I would like you to meet a new friend of mine from the Netherlands.
Her name is Marijke Van Ooijen. Isn't she pretty! I think this is the sweetest picture of her on vacation.
She makes bunnies, bears and lots of other beautiful creations and gives classes. I would love to take a class from her.
Hop over to her blog and pay her a visit. You won't be disappointed. Be sure and tell her hi from me.

Have a fun day.

Sew Forth and Sew On Sunday

I've decided I want to keep it. This pillow I made. I just love the way it looks on my bed. Besides, I got a "Wild Hare" again. I can't help myself. I really just love shades of white.

Remember all the blue accents in my bedroom?  Well, they are outta here. Out with my blue mood they went.

Replaced with white linen curtains that let even more light flow into my room. I love living with light. It makes me feel happy, calm and peaceful.
I even spray painted this white.

Then I thought...I need to keep this art quilt I made too. As I love it to much to sell it and it looks really great in my dining room.

I'm working on some new things now with wool and velvet and yes, they are white.

My finger is getting better from the squirrel bite. Glad my little tale made lots of you laugh. It was pretty funny when I think about it. Here's my new hairdo. She put the dark color back in and added highlights. I also had her cut it as I was looking like a scraggley witchee poo.

I can't wait until it get's cooler so I can wear jeans again.
Have a fun Sunday and stay cool.

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...
