Show Photos and a Reminder

I'm going to start off with a reminder that tomorrow is the final block on our Sentimental Journey! Hop back over for a giveaway too!

Thanks so much to all of you for your well wishes on the show. I had a wonderful time and could have spent everything I made buying things from other artists! There was some incredible talent there. I even saw people I hadn't seen in 15 years! That was so cool! A special shout out to Jeanne for making the long drive up to see me! That was so great!

Here are a few photos.

A few years ago, they remodeled the convention center and made it into this modern building. Oh how I miss living in a city. There are over 2 million people that live in the Hampton Roads area. There is so much to do and see. I may dress like a country girl, but I'm a city girl at heart.

David even took a picture of the marquee out front. Too funny.

My booth was suppose to be 10' x 10'. However, when we got there it was more like 15' x 10'! Yikes!!! Needless to say my space looked a wee bit sparse, but we just ran with it. They also put me right across from a big food vendor again. What is it with me being near all the food when I have the all white booth?! Oy!

My hat was a huge success. I think I could have made a fortune selling them! Everyone smiled when they saw me, well almost everyone. One guy just stared at me for a while until I crossed my eyes at him, then he laughed. One fella said, "oh look, a playboy bunny!" I said, "I wish!  If I was a playboy bunny, I would be rich and not doing craft shows!" Everyone busted out laughing.

My booth was suppose to have all white curtains in it too, but this one red one got stuck in there. It was OK though as that's where the checkout line was. That big ol' stain on the white one was gross and ugly too. You know I'm a clean freak and that was totally freaking me out!

Lots of people looked at the bunny pictures and talked about rabbit rescue with me. That was a really great opportunity to spread the word about these wonderful little creatures.

It took me over 2 hours to set it all up and only 25 minutes to break it down. So yes, I sold a bunch of things. I do however have a few items left and I have put them in my Shop if you would like to hop over and take a look.

I have one Wishing Star. I know there are two here, but only one is available. Hint, hint, hint for tomorrow's giveaway. ;)

Two Jingle Stars

and Two Kisses and Hugs Lavender Sachets (sometimes you want a kiss before a hug) hee, hee, hee.

Three Jingle Trees

Four Hugs and Kisses  Lavender Sachets

 and Five Love Lavender Sachets

It was a lot of fun doing the show, but also a lot of hard work and expensive. I may end up doing quarterly web shows instead. Plus, then I can stay home and be with the bunnies. It was hard to be away from them for so long.

See ya tomorrow!

Monday Meeting - Juliet Wilson

Good morning staff! Did you have a wonderful weekend, and a beautiful Thanksgiving?  We sure did. We got home late last night and have a big day ahead of us. Most of which will be spent with the bunnies as I missed them so much. The show was great and I'll fill you in on that tomorrow. But for today, let's get our meeting started.

This week I am delighted to introduce you to my friend, Juliet Wilson, of The Crafty Green Poet. Juliet lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is yet another place I would love to visit one day. It looks so magical to me.

Juliet is an environmentalist and incredible poet. In fact, this is her book which contains a collection of poetry and haiku's that features sky themes, birds and her concerns for the world we live in. I am honored to own a signed copy of her book. This is my favorite haiku. Bet ya can't tell why. ;)

my rabbit's ears

On her blog, Juliet writes about sustainable and green living, the beauty of the world we live in and crafting with repurposed items. Her boyfriend takes many of the photos on her blog and I think they are beautiful.

Of course, my goofy sense of humor came out when I saw this next photo. She called this photo "Urban Crows." But ya'll know I can't help myself. In my mind animals always seem to talk and the bird on the ground was talking.     hee, hee, hee.

"Hey Mack, I told ya to hold the mayo. For cry'in out loud, can't you ever get my order right?"

Hop over and visit with Juliet, enjoy her beautiful poetry, be inspired to live a greener life and tell her Shell and the bunnies said hi.

Have a magical and fun week everyone!
Meeting adjourned.

Monday Meeting - Marlene of Stitchin by the Lake

Good morning staff! Is it me or are Monday's rolling around faster this time of year? Feels like it was August just yesterday! Anyway, on with the meeting.

Today I am delighted to introduce you to my friend, Marlene, of Stitchin by the Lake. As you may have guessed from her blog name, she is a quilter, a stitcher and is one lucky gal that lives on a lake!

Hello! Is this gorgeous or what?! Yep, this is where she lives!!!!

Marlene is just as gorgeous inside and out. She is a very kind and generous lady. She has been working on a list called One Thousand Blessings. In each post she lists things that are blessings to her. I really love these as ya'll know I like to focus on positive and happy things.

Recently, I received a package in the mail. (I do love a package!) Marlene sent me these gorgeous lace doily's and trims. They are French and Swiss and very old. I think it's pretty cool how they are still on the cards that they were sold on. Thanks Marlene! I love them!

Marlene made this cutie for a silent auction at her guild. Fun! My favorite Christmas song is "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives. Are ya sing'in it yet??? hee, hee, hee.

And I love this redwork stitchery!

Hop over and visit Marlene at the lake. Tell her Shell and the bunnies said hi!

Have a magical and fun week everyone!
Meeting adjourned.

Knock, Knock

Who's there?

Oh, it's just you mama. Where's dinner?
Sugie bun, bun, is doing so much better. Thank all of you so very much for your positive prayers and good wishes.

I made a couple of these patchwork jingle stars the other day. They were really fun to make. What are ya'll working on? Do you have lots to do on your Holiday list?

We hope you have a fun weekend and a very Happy Friday!

Lady Sophia Snowflake of the White Forest

Lady Sophia Snowflake lives in the white forest. She is the beloved pet of Old Man Winter. He carries her around in his coat pocket. All you can see of her is her head that she pops out occasionally to take a peek at the visitors from the wood.

Lady Sophia Snowflake is my special ornament for this year. She is made of white velvet. The trim on her neckline is vintage and her eye is a Swavorski glass pearl. I made ten for the show and there are two available in my Shop. This is all there will be for this year.

Monday Meeting - Sherry of Blessings from our Nest

Good morning everyone! How was your weekend? Did you have a good time? I spent the entire weekend in the studio sewing fun things and snuggling bunnies. It was wonderful!

Let's get our meeting started. Today I am delighted to introduce you to my friend, Sherry, of Blessings from our Nest. Sherry lives in Washington State (love it!), has been married for over 38 years, has 6 kiddo's and 9 grandkiddos! Wow!

Sherry purchased my Baroque Bouquets pattern a while a back and when she finished, she was kind enough to send me a picture and she also did a blog post about it. I think she did a fantastic job! I must say that it is truly exciting for me to see one of my designs completed! It also makes me incredibly happy that the person had fun making it. After all, isn't that the reason we stitch? :)

She also makes all kinds of wonderful and pretty things. Here are a couple more that I liked.

Ya'll know how much I looooove cute cottages right? Well, Sherry lives in one! Oh my gosh! Her cottage is just darling and has so much charm.  Her home is every bit as warm and friendly as she is.
Hop over and visit with Sherry and take a peek at the newest pillow she made. It's gorgeous! Tell her Shell and the bunnies said hi!

Have a fun and magical week everyone!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! This week sure did fly by! I have lots of sewing I'm doing over the weekend. I just made a pattern for the cutest bunny ornament. I can't wait to show you!

I finished my lavender sachets yesterday. I have love, hugs and kisses and some with kisses and hugs. I think the patchwork bottom makes them fun.

Thanks for all the well wishes for Sugie's tummy. She's doing better, but still not really great. Will be giving her lots of extra snuggles for sure!

I promise I will be around to visit with all of you as soon as I can. I miss my tea and blog reading time and visiting with my friends. But, sometimes we all have to work to pay bills. At least it's fun work! :)

Have a fun day and a magical weekend!

Wishing Stars

Just a quick post today as I'm up to my eyeballs getting ready for this show, a husband who just had elbow surgery and Sugie bunny having stomach troubles. Oy!

These are my wishing stars I was telling you about the other week. I'm so excited about them and I love how they turned out. They are pretty big (18" w x 20" h). I made four white one's and one gray and white one. They are softly stuffed. Like my belly, I don't like to overstuff things. hee, hee, hee. I crack myself up!

Hope ya'll are having a good week so far! Make a wish upon a star!

Monday Meeting - Barbara Gaddy of Bejeweled Quilts by Barb

Good morning staff! Hope all of you have had a lovely weekend. I finally figured out what the problem was with uploading pictures. It wasn't Blogger at all. The ding dong cable workers were messing around with the lines outside and took my internet speed from high speed to slow poke speed! Apparently it's not fast enough to upload photos. They are coming today to fix it, so as I write this post, I still have to wait forever until I can add photos. It has also made visiting your blogs difficult as it's like having dial up speed to load your blog. Oy! I've become spoiled in my old age. Spoiled I tell ya! hee, hee, hee.

Anyway, let's get on to our meeting shall we?

Today I am delighted to introduce you to a very fun quilting friend, Barbara Gaddy of Bejeweled Quilts by Barb. Barb's blog is all about quilting. This women loves fabric, Steam a Seam and her Accu Quilt!

Barb is also a pattern designer and has several patterns for sale including these two. I think they are so cute and charming! She also has lots of free tutorials on her blog to get your creativity hopping! Bloggers and quilters are some of the most generous people aren't they?

Here are a couple of the quilts she has made that I really love. This butterfly baby quilt is so colorful. I know what you're thinking, Shell, loves white stuff. While I do love white, I also appreciate the beauty in all art and the things that other people find beautiful. After all, if everyone liked the same thing, the world would be so truly boring. :)

Don't ya just love these owls? Cute! Cute! Cute!

Hop over and visit with Barb. Tell her Shell and the bunnies said hi!

Have a magical and fun week everyone and may your internet speed be zippy! ;)
Meeting adjourned.

A Sentimental Journey Block 11 and a Giveaway

Wow! Is it really November???? Didn't I just say the same thing last month?  So how have you been doing with your blocks? I know some of you have been keeping up. (Di, that would be you!) We're almost there. Next month we will have our last block and the finished project! I can't wait to show you!

Ok, so onto this months block. My word for this month was Give. I think this quote is one of my all time favorite quotes. I truly believe that you don't have to be rich to be a giving person. We all have wonderful gifts we can give to one another. It can be something as small as a handwritten note or a cup of tea. The simple things in life matter most and we really do make a life by what we give.

So go to my Shop and get your design. Have fun stitching this quote and don't forget, you can still collect all the quotes. They will remain there until January 1st.

The floss color this month is Valdani O514, wheat husk or P4, Aged White Light

Now on to the giveaway! This month I thought it might be fun to give away something I made. I've been so excited about how my little jingle trees turned out for the show that I thought I would give one away to you. So, just leave a comment on this post. As always, if you are a follower of my blog (sign up on the right) you get two chances. Tell me you're following. I will pick the winner this Saturday, November 6th.

Good luck and happy stitching!

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...
